Venue

ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute, Pusa,  New Delhi

The conference venue is the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), which is also known as Pusa Institute, is India's premier national institute for agricultural research, education, and extension, founded in 1905 and located in New Delhi. The name Pusa Institute is derived from the fact that the institute was originally located in Pusa, Bihar as the Imperial Institute of Agricultural Research in 1911. It was then renamed as the Imperial Agricultural Research Institute in 1919 and following a major earthquake in Pusa in 1934, it was relocated to Delhi in 1936. The current institute in Delhi is financed and administered by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). It has played a pivotal role in the development of high-yielding varieties of different crops, which led to the Green Revolution in the 1960s. IARI has also played a significant role in Yellow Revolution in India by developing the high yielding oilseed varieties, leading to the release of "double zero" quality mustard varieties which possess low erucic acid and glucosinolates, meeting international quality standards. The Indian IARI offers various academic programs in the field of agriculture and allied sciences at the postgraduate, and doctoral levels. Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) ranked first among Agriculture and Allied Universities in the National Institutional Ranking Framework NIRF (India Rankings 2024).
